With the political coalition between the United Negros Alliance and Love Negros appearing to have worked in the 2019 and 2022 elections, Negros Occidental Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer prefers to call it “Une-Love”.
“There are no party lines anymore,” Ferrer, who is the United Negros Alliance (UNegA) president, declared.
He and Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson were partners during the 2019 and 2022 elections under the coalition.
“The UNe-Love coalition has the governor and me as its leaders,” Ferrer said, adding that there is no UNegA and Love Negros anymore.
“Eventually, that is where our paths lead to,” Ferrer stressed.
La Carlota City Councilor Julius Martin Asistio was earlier declared by Lacson, who is affiliated with Love Negros, as the common candidate of the two political groups for president of the Philippines Councilors’ League-Negros Occidental Chapter.
Following the announcement of Lacson, incumbent PCL-Negros Occidental president Ryan Gamboa said he will abide by the decision.
Gamboa is the number 1 councilor of Silay City, and sits as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Ferrer said there will be a meeting to discuss the final lineup of candidates they will field in the coming PCL-Negros Occidental election.
UNega and Love Negros members earlier elected neophyte Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez as president of the Negros Association of Chief Executives./GB
