Explosives, guns seized in Sipalay raid

A man was arrested by joint army and police team during a raid that yielded war material on Dec. 26 in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

The troops swooped down the residence of Remy Bilando in Sitio Calagcaman, Barangay Camindangan by virtue of search warrant issued by Kabankalan City Regional Trial Court Judge Rodeny Magbanua.

The raid led to the arrest of Bilando, 49, and the recovery of a rifle grenade, a fragmentation grenade, and a caliber .38 revolver with six live ammunition.

In San Carlos City, two suspects were arrested by the police after they yielded two caliber .45 Colt pistols with four magazines containing 41 ammunition during the operation in Barangay Nataban.

Detained at the custodial facility were Silverio Indino and Vilmark Paran, both farmers and residents of Barangays Nataban and Quezon, respectively.

They were arrested after the police informed the residents of their activities in the area. – GB
