Ex-soldier nabbed for illegal drugs

A former member of the Philippine Army is now locked up in jail after he was arrested on Sept. 19 for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspect, alias “Jiljil”, of Sipalay City was collared by the police during a buy- bust in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

His arrest yielded an estimated 51 grams of suspected shabu valued at P346,800.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, director of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region, said the Philippine National Police remains resolute in pursuing drug suspects across Negros and Siquijor, stressing that those involved in the illegal drug trade will be “relentlessly pursued and held accountable. | GB
