The provincial government of Negros Occidental has terminated the employment of 12 Contract of Service (CoS) workers, who are serving as ambulance drivers under the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD).

Provincial Legal Officer, Atty. Alberto Nellas Jr., Monday said the termination of contracts of the 12 CoS workers was due to repeated non-compliance in the submission of trip tickets.

Five other Capitol employees, three of whom are regular in status and two casuals, were also formally charged for grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty.

Nellas said the termination of contracts between the provincial government and the 12 CoS workers was approved by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.

He said they were able to establish grounds that warrant the termination of contracts.

On the other hand, the preliminary hearing of the administrative charges filed against five PDMPD employees for grave misconduct will commence in January.

But two of them have already resigned ahead of the formal hearing, the PLO reported, adding that the appointment of another casual employee facing grave misconduct charges will not be renewed./GB
