A former commander of the elite PNP Special Action Force is now the police chief of Sagay City in Negros Occidental.
P/Lt. Col. John Mocyat, former commander of the Sagay-based Special Action Battalion 6 of the PNP SAF, replaced P/Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape.
The turnover of command June 1 was presided over by P/Col. Leo Pamittan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, and witnessed by Sagay City Mayor Narciso “Narwin” Javelosa Jr.
During his speech, Javelosa pledged his full support to Mocyat, as he thanked Indiape for his service to Sagaynons.
Indiape, in turn, thanked the Sagay City officials and Sagaynons for their support during his stint as police chief.
Mocyat, on the other hand, urged the Sagay police to serve the people with utmost integrity, courage, fairness, and dedication, stressing also that he expects the rights of police officers to be respected and upheld./GB
