The Municipality of E.B. Magalona remains having the most number of show-cause orders (SCOs) issued by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) against candidates for the synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) in Negros Occidental.
As the number of SCOs issued to candidates in the province has risen to 107, a total of 56 were issued to aspirants in E.B. Magalona alone as of Oct. 11.
Additional 15 SCOs were also issued to candidates in Manapla, two in Cauayan and one in Sagay.
All the SCOs issued have already been served, according to the Comelec.
Provincial Elections Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said that majority of the complaints are still on premature campaigning.
The campaign period for the Oct. 30 elections will be on Oct. 19 to 28.
The Election Day has been declared by Malacañang as a non-working day. | GB
