EB Magalona barangay gets 27 CCTV cameras

San Isidro, an upland barangay of E. B. Magalona, is a recipient of 27 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, worth P892,040, from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The CCTV cameras, that come with complete accessories including a 32-inch LED TV, were installed at Hacienda TCG, Proper, and Hacienda Sta. Isabel, and were inaugurated and turned over to the community March 20.

It will be operated and maintained by the TCG Small Water Irrigation System Association (TCG SWISA).

The project is under the DSWD’s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services-Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan that uses a community-driven development approach to alleviate poverty and improve service delivery.

In his message, punong barangay Ronnie Loro said the barangay council and residents of San Isidro are thankful to the DSWD for the CCTV cameras “which will greatly enhance our safety and security.”

“The installation of 27 CCTV cameras is a big help in keeping our barangay safe. CCTV footages can serve as valuable evidence in investigating crimes and identifying perpetrators,” he added.

Representing the Office of Mayor Marvin Malacon in the ceremonies and delivering their messages were municipal area coordinator Jose Sellado and Municipal Social Welfare and Development officer Emy Lyn Hibionada, with Marvelyn Serrano of the Municipal Planning and Development Office.

Also giving their messages were DSWD6 project development officer Dan Donald Candare, kagawad Arlene Loro, TCG SWISA chairman Noel Loro, BDC-TWG chairwoman Joy Galang, and community volunteer Celso Bandejas.

The event was also attended by DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS area coordinator Karen Joy Calizo, area community empowerment facilitator Ma. Jopen Talha, finance analyst Cheryl Ann Flores, municipal CEF Renaleen Grace Pollentes, and municipal encoder Daniel Paez Jr. ||
