Earthquakes rock Hinoba-an, Sipalay

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck near Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 17, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 3:37 p.m., was recorded two kilometers northeast of Hinoba-an, with a depth of 18 kilometers.

An instrumental Intensity IV was felt in the neighboring Sipalay City, according to Phivolcs.

It also reported Intensity II in Sibulan, Negros Oriental and Intensity III in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

There was no record of any aftershock or damage. | GB
