Hundreds of recipients in the Sept. 19 distribution of financial assistance in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, were vendors, tricycle drivers, senior citizens, and other residents, who trooped to the City Evacuation Center, to undergo the validation and release of cash aid.

Atty. Dio Remollo said this is part of their efforts with Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo to provide cash aid to city residents, in a bid to help address their urgent needs.

Also present during the distribution of financial assistance were councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Rey Lyndon Lawas, former mayor Melo Remollo, former SK president Renz Macion, former Piapi punong barangay Clark Labi, and concerned barangays officials, to assist the recipients in complying with the requirements.

Atty. Remollo said that another batch of beneficiaries will receive their financial assistance today, Sept. 20, in the same venue.

Meanwhile, the recipients Sept. 18 were residents of the different barangays of the city, who got P2,000 each.

Hundreds of beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, or TUPAD, program also received their wages for 10 days of labor in their barangays.

Remollo said this is a continuation of the payout for almost 2,000 TUPAD workers, since the other day, who each received P4,680 (for perfect attendance) after rendering service by maintaining the cleanliness of their communities.

The TUPAD program is undertaken by the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Office of Mayor Remollo, through the City Public Employment Service Office, the city said. ||
