Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental is celebrating its 76th Charter anniversary, with a spread of activities lined up leading to the civic-military parade on Nov. 24, and other events until the end of this month.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo already mobilized the City Traffic and Management Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the Dumaguete City Police Station, Philippine Coast Guard, City Health Office, Special Enforcement Unit, and other relevant agencies to help ensure that all the activities are safe and secure for the participants and spectators.
Activities include the La Boheme Concerto Puccini in Silliman University and the Third Kind Dancesport Championship at Pantawan People’s Park, both happening tonight, Nov. 15; 3rd Negrense National Dancesport Championships and 1st Dumaguete International Open at the Uypitching Multi-Purpose Hall, Valencia, Nov. 16; chess and dama tournament, Saint Louis School-Don Bosco Gymnasium, Nov. 16-17; Women’s 4 A-Side Park volleyball tournament and invitational basketball tournament, both at Pantawan People’s Park, Nov. 18-24;
Beach Sepak Takraw tournament, Nov. 23-24; Men’s Open softball tournament, Nov. 23-Dec. 15; ‘Beat the Bisyo’ race, Nov. 23; 5K and 10K fun run, Charter Day Music Festival, and grand fireworks display, Nov. 24; fiesta comedy show Featuring “Donita Nose and Tekla”, Nov. 25; bulilit and teen idol shows, Nov. 26;
Dumaguete Inter-High School folk dance competition and inter-high school balitaw competition, Nov. 27; Dumaguete Idol 2024, Nov. 28; Dumabeat street dance competition, Nov. 29; and invitational arnis tournament, and all-Dumaguete pickleball challenge, both on Nov. 30 to Dec. 1. ||
