The Dumaguete City government acquired three additional brand-new vacuum trucks, all worth P14.1 million, for its septage treatment facility in Barangay Camanjac, with the blessing held April 10.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo led LGU officials and employees during the blessing ceremony officiated by Rev. Father Bernard Maquiling, the city said.
Remollo is optimistic that the three additional vacuum trucks, each worth P4.7 million, can help in the efficient and safe collection and transport of sewage, sludge, and wastewater from the septic tanks and business establishments to the city-managed septage treatment plant so that only treated water will be properly released back to the environment.

City Economic Enterprises officer, Engr. Leticia Duran, thanked the local government for providing additional vacuum trucks to better serve the increasing number of households and establishments in the city.
Remollo has also submitted a budget for the proposed purchase of seven additional vacuum trucks to enhance the capacity of the office to serve the needs of the consumers and care for the environment. ||
