Drug suspects yield P511,600 in shabu

Policemen seized more than P500,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested seven suspects in a series of buy-busts over  the weekend in Negros Occidental, including the highly-urbanized Bacolod City.

Two of the suspects, with aliases “Odick” and “Jomari”, were apprehended by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit at Magsaysay Avenue in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City on Sunday (July 6).

The operation yielded about 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P340,000, a report of Bacolod City Police Office said.

On the same day, four suspects, including alias “Benjie” and alias “Ronnie”, who are both fishermen, alias “Joric”, and a 16-year-old were arrested at Sitio Dacutan in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City.

This led to the confiscation of about 20 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P136,000.

On Saturday, three persons were also arrested by the police in Silay City, Ilog, and Valladolid, resulting in the recovery of about P35,000 worth of suspected shabu.

The seven drug suspects are expected to be charged in court for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
