A drug suspect died in a shootout with policemen at Villa Sagrado in Barangay Burgos, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Friday.
The drug suspect, with aliases of “Mark Joan” and “Stan”, 34, fired at the poseur- buyer when he noticed that he was dealing with a police officer, according to the report of Cadiz Component City Police Station.
He was declared dead on arrival at the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic.
Investigators recovered from the scene of the incident a caliber .45 pistol with magazine containing six ammunition, seven ammunition of caliber .45 pistol, 11 fired cartridges of 9mm pistol, three fired bullets, and a deformed bullet.
Operatives seized about 20 grams of suspected shabu valued at P136,000.
The slain drug suspect had been linked to the random shooting incidents in Silay City on July 10, which also led to the injuries of three victims.
On July 11, a buy-bust at Purok 6 in Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City led to the arrest of four drug suspects and the recovery of about 56 grams of suspected shabu valued at P380,800. | GB
