An alleged drug personality was shot dead by an unidentified assailant Wednesday night in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The 51-year-old victim, who was tagged by the police as a street-level individual, succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.
The resident of Barangay San Benito, Calatrava, whose identity is being withheld by the police, died on the spot.
Investigators recovered two shells of caliber .45 pistol at the scene of the incident along San Juan Baybay Street.
Meanwhile, policemen seized yesterday another P1 million worth of suspected shabu from three persons in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested suspects Christian Gayoso, Jason Bayson and Lance Bawiga, who yielded 157 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P1.067 million.
This was after the police also seized about 170 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.156 million from a fisherman and two minors, during a buy bust on Wednesday in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The Silay City police also recovered a caliber .38 revolver and a homemade 12-gauge shotgun from the arrested suspects.
Two other buy-bust operations on Wednesday in cities of Talisay and Escalante led to the apprehension of two more drug suspects, and the recovery of at least three grams of suspected shabu worth P20,400. | GB
