A suspected drug personality was gunned down at Hacienda Euzkara in Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Monday.
The 39-year-old victim, who was a pedicab driver, was reported by the police to have been declared dead on arrival at San Carlos City Hospital.
He succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.
The victim was killed almost three weeks after a suspected drug peddler was also shot dead on Oct. 18 in Barangay 2.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his 27-year-old live-in partner were resting in an open field, when the suspect identified only as alias Jeproks, came out from the bushes.
The suspect then pointed his gun at the victim and shot him in the head.
The gunman, however, spared the victim’s partner.
Meanwhile, a street-level individual was arrested by the police during a buy-bust inside a public cemetery in Barangay XXI, Victorias City also on Monday.
The arrest of the 25-year-old drug personality, whose identity was withheld by the police, yielded seven sachets of suspected shabu, and P500 in marked money. | GB
