The victim of a shooting incident in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, was reported by the police to have been a member of the Bugalon Drug Group.

Maj. John Ganzon, Hinigaran police chief, said that the victim identified as Bartolome Onlayao, 48, succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.

He was the fourth victim of reported summary execution in Negros Occidental since August this year.

The lifeless body of Onlayao, who was positively identified by his daughter, was found by a barangay tanod along the highway of Bangga Magdalena in Brgy. Pilar, Hinigaran, Oct. 23.

Ganzon said that they are looking into the possibility that the killing of Onlayao, a resident of Kabankalan City, and a drug surrenderer, may have been related to illegal drug transactions.

Hinigaran policemen recovered an empty shell of M16 assault rifle from the scene of incident.
