About 150 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves valued at P18,000 were confiscated by the police from a motorist at a checkpoint in Purok Stop, Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental on Thursday (April 24).

In a statement, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office said the dried marijuana leaves were placed on top of the motorcycle’s head light cover.
Police also recovered an improvised pipe with traces of marijuana, a lighter, black sling bag.
The suspect’s blue Rusi motorcycle had no pertinent documents.
In Pontevedra, the arrest of alias “Renren” on Wednesday in Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto led to the confiscation of about 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at P68,000.
Meanwhile, the implementation of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 or illegal possession of firearms in Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City resulted in the recovery of Colt caliber .45 pistol, with three magazines containing 29 rounds of ammunition, and the arrest of a suspect identified as alias “Jess”. | GB
