The Department of Health further downgraded the alert level of Bacolod City from 2 to 1, while Negros Occidental remains under Alert Level 2, including five other provinces of Western Visayas.

All the Region 6 provinces and the highly urbanized cities of Bacolod and Iloilo are classified as minimal risk for COVID-19, Dr. Bea Camille Natalaray, DOH-Western Visayas Center for Health Development 6, said.

The average daily attack rate of Bacolod City reduced from 2.53 percent to 0.59 percent per 100,000 population, and from 0.99 percent to 0.30 percent for Negros Occidental, as of Dec. 10, Natalaray said during a virtual presser Dec. 13.

The healthcare utilization rate of Bacolod City further reduced to 12.46 percent and 29.44 percent for Negros Occidental, and this prompted the DOH to place them under the low risk classification.

The DOH report further indicated that the two-week growth rate of COVID-19 in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City have been recorded at negative 49 and negative 77, respectively.

As of Dec. 13, COVID-19 active cases in Negros Occidental further dropped to 271, from its peak of more than 4,400 in October, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported. — GB
