The pump prices of petroleum products will increase anew effective tomorrow, March 31, with diesel expected to still have a double-digit increment.

Oil companies announced over the weekend that diesel will increase by P11 to P14 per liter, gasoline by P0.50 to P2.60/L, and kerosene by P3 to P5/L.

The exact adjustments will be known today, March 30.

This will be the 12th straight week of increases for gasoline and the 13th for diesel and kerosene since the start of this year.

The expected increase this week though is smaller compared to the three consecutive weeks of double-digit hikes this month.

This as the Department of Energy said the government implements measures “to safeguard the country’s energy security and support the oil supply needs” of every home, commuter, and business, especially amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The DOE said the government processed and ensured the arrival of a total of 165,678,000 liters, or 1.042 million barrels, of diesel.

Based on total volume, the first shipment carrying 22,578,000 liters (142,000 barrels) of diesel was delivered March 26, while the remaining shipments are scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks of April, the DOE added. | CGC
