The Negros Occidental Provincial Health Office (PHO) recorded 141 dengue cases from Jan. 4 to Feb. 7 this year, indicating a reduction of 80.28 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
Dengue cases dropped from 715 to 141, with zero fatality, according to the PHO report.
The cities of Bago and San Carlos ranked number one among the top 10 local government units, having the most number of cases at 18 each.
The rest are Cadiz City, 15; Kabankalan City, 12; Isabela, nine; Manapla and Cauayan, seven each; and Moises Padilla, Talisay City, and Escalante City, six each.
Age-group with the most number of dengue cases is one to 10 years old.
From Jan. 4 to 30, the Bacolod City Health Office recorded 34 dengue cases, with zero fatality, registering a decrease of 26 percent compared to 46 cases in the same period last year. | GB
