Dengue cases in Negros Occidental dropped by 60.93 percent as Jan. 27, compared to the same period last year, a report of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.

PHO recorded 59 cases in the first month of this year compared to 151 in 2023.

Highest number of dengue cases were reported in the cities of La Carlota, Sagay and Silay, with six cases each, while zero cases were noted in Binalbagan, Hinobaan, Ilog, Moises Padilla, Murcia, Pulupandan, Salvador Benedicto, Toboso and San Enrique.

The PHO report indicated zero mortality.

The total attack rate for the province of Negros Occidental is two cases per 100,000, it added. | GB
