Dengue cases in Negros Occidental reached 1,151 cases in the first two months of 2025, with related deaths remaining at six, based on the report of the Provincial Health Office.
The increase of 818 cases is equivalent to 339.99 percent, from only 233 cases in the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, the highly-urbanized Bacolod City logged 180 dengue cases, with one fatality, from January to Feb. 22 this year.
Bago City continues to have the most number of dengue cases at 232.
Other local government units included in the top 10 list are La Carlota City – 89; Kabankalan City – 84; San Carlos City – 71; Silay City – 67; Pulupandan – 54; Cauayan – 54; Talisay City – 48; Hinigaran and Ilog, 38 each. | GB
