The Department of Agriculture in Western Visayas is holding a rice photography contest as part of the National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) observance this November, on the theme “Grow Local. Buy Local. Eat Local. #SupportOurRiceFarmers”.
Professional and amateur photographers, 18 years old and above, and based in Western Visayas, and employees of the DA and its attached bureaus and agencies are qualified to join the contest.
Deadline for submission is on Nov. 20.
All photos will be posted on the DA Western Visayas Facebook Page on Nov. 21. Voting will run until Nov. 22, and winners will be notified on Nov. 23, the DA 6 announced on its FB page.
The top 3 winners will be invited to the awarding program on Nov. 26 in Iloilo City.
First place winner will get P10,000 and one sack of rice.
The second placer will receive P7,000 and one sack of rice, while the third placer will take home P5,000 and one sack of rice.
Six provincial winners will each receive P2,500 and one sack of rice, while 10 consolation winners will get P2,000 each.
C𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 j𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 include adherence to the theme/content, 30%; creativity and originality, 25%; quality, 20%; visual impact, 15%; and Facebook Reactions, 10%.
The photograph entry shall focus on this year’s celebration theme. A contestant can submit only one photograph as entry, and this should be posted on Facebook with a photo title and not more than 100 words photo description or caption.
