CSA-B alumna lands at No. 7 in chemical engineers’ exams

Althea May Bayer Benjamin, a graduate of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, placed seventh in the Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination, with a rating of 84.60 percent, the Professional Regulation Commission said May 27.

Benjamin is among the 640 passers, out of the 928 examinees in the licensure examination simultaneously administered by the Board of Chemical Engineering last week in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cebu, Iloilo, Legazpi, and Lucena.

The CSA-B community congratulated her for her impressive feat. “Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and we are incredibly proud of your outstanding achievement!”

The school said it also logged an exemplary performance, with a 76.19 percent passing rate for first-timers, and an overall performance of 72 percent.

The exam was topped by Miguel Siapno Bungalon of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, with an 87.30 percent rating.

The PRC said registration for the issuance of the professional identification card and Certificate of Registration will be done online starting on July 5, 2024, adding that the date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees will be announced soon. | CGC
