The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported zero-crime incident in the first two weeks of the 46th MassKara Festival from Oct. 1 to 14.
In a statement on Thursday, Oct. 16, Col. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, said this can be attributed to the effective implementation of comprehensive security measures in all festival sites, including major event areas, activity zones, and crowd convergence points.
Coronica said the strong police presence and strategic deployment of police personnel successfully maintained peace and order for the duration of the festival.
“The achievement is made possible through the close coordination of the MassKara Festival Task Group, local government units, and private stakeholders, all working together under a unified command structure,” he added.
At the same time, the BCPO launched an intensified campaign against illegal drugs, which led to the recovery of P9.11 million worth of shabu in two weeks of operations from Oct. 1 to 14.
Operatives seized a total of 1,340 grams of shabu in 20 operations, resulting in the arrest of 31 individuals. | GB
