The number of police officers, who tested positive for COVID-19 in Western Visayas, was reduced to 84, as of June 6, compared to 95 a week ago, the PNP Health Service reported.
But the number of COVID-infected personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office rose from 24 to 27 in the same period, while the Bacolod City Police Office has five active cases, the report added.
NOCPPO remains to have the most of number of infected personnel with 27, followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, with 24, PRO6 regional headquarters and Antique Police Provincial Office at 13 each, Guimaras PPO and Iloilo City Police Office with 2 each, and the Capiz PPO, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and the National Support Units with one case each.
Of the 662 confirmed cases, 577 have already recovered, with two deaths, and 84 active infections.
The PNP Health Service also reported that 338 of the 13,581 police personnel assigned in Western Visayas, and 30 others at the Regional Support Units, have already been vaccinated. — GB
