COVID-19 infected cops reach 144

The COVID-19 infected police personnel and civilian-employed workers in Region 6 rose to 144, as of June 20, compared to 128 a week ago, a report from the Philippine National Police Health Service showed.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office ranked second with the most number of personnel tested positive for COVID-19 at 21, compared to Aklan Police Provincial Office with 39 infected personnel.

On the other hand, the Bacolod City Police logged four active cases.

As of June 20, 2021, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office tallies 21 cases of COVID-19, the second highest in the region among the police personnel.

Of the five new cases reported on June 20, two of the infected police personnel are assigned at NOCPPO.

Of the 840 confirmed cases since last year, the PNP Health Service reported 694 recoveries, with two deaths and 144 active cases.

The PNP Health Service also reported that 825 police personnel of the different police units under the supervision of Police Regional Office 6, including the National Support Units, have already been vaccinated. – GB
