Couple, 3 other shabu peddlers nabbed

A couple and three suspected drug peddlers were arrested while P241,400 worth of suspected shabu were seized in police buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental on May 31 and June 1.

Operatives of Bacolod City Police Station 8 confiscated about 20 grams of suspected shabu valued at P136,000 from couple, who were not identified by the police, at Villa Esperanza in Barangay Tangub on June 1.

On the same day, a 42-year-old jobless man, considered by the police as a street level individual drug personality, was arrested at Zone 2 of Barangay 2, Manapla town.

He yielded an estimated 2.5 grams of suspected shabu worth P17,000.

A 27-year-old female market vendor was apprehended at Purok Gonzaga in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City on May 31.

Operatives recovered from her possession about 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at P68,000.

The arrest of a 25-year-old suspect at Sitio Carolina, Barangay 2, La Carlota City led to the confiscation of about three grams of suspected shabu valued at P20,400 and P500 in marked money.

All the five arrested drug suspects may face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. | GB
