The police anti-drug operations in Western Visayas from Nov. 27 to 29 led to the confiscation of almost a kilo of suspected shabu, worth P6.3 million, recovered from the 20 arrested drug suspects, the Police Regional Office-6 said in a report.
Of the arrested drug suspects, five are considered as high-value individual drug personalities while 15 others, as street level individual drug suspects.
Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has the biggest volume of illegal drug confiscation worth P5.4 million, which was followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), P408,000.
ICPO accounted for 12 drug suspects; Negros Occidental Police Office, four; Bacolod City Police Office, two; Aklan Police Provincial Office and IPPO, one each.
Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, congratulated the personnel and their unit commanders involved in the operations for a job well done.
Wanky rallied the cooperation of everyone in the fight against illegal drugs.
Those monitored engaging in the illegal activity can be reported to the police or to the anti-drug abuse councils either in the barangay, municipal or provincial level, he added. | GB
