Cops seize P4.5M shabu in Bacolod

Anti-drug operatives seized about P4.5 million in suspected shabu from four arrested drug suspects in separate buy-busts in Bacolod City on Jan. 17 and 18, police reports showed.

A 50-year-old widow, whose identity is being withheld by the police, was arrested Saturday morning at Purok Rosal in Barangay Taculing.

Her apprehension yielded about 250 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1.7 million.

Two other drug suspects were also caught at Purok Laurel in Barangay Mansilingan on Friday.

The arrest of alias “Maricar”, 39, and alias “Jessa”, 36, by the City Drug Enforcement Unit resulted in the confiscation of 300 grams of suspected shabu worth P2.04 million.

On the same day, the police seized about 115 grams of suspected shabu valued at P782,000 from another drug personality in Barangay Handumanan.

All the four arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail.

Five more drug suspects were also arrested by the police in a series of buy-busts on Saturday in cities of Silay and La Carlota as well as in Valladolid and San Enrique towns, all in Negros Occidental, which yielded about 16 grams of suspected shabu worth P112,614. | GB
