Cops seize drugs, gun from 5 suspects

Almost P200,000 worth of suspected shabu and an unlicensed firearm were recovered by the police in separate operations in Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The raid at the residence of alias “Kuya Ramel” at Purok Pagi in Barangay Central Tabao, Valladolid town led to the confiscation of about 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000 and a caliber .38 revolver with four ammunition.

Three other suspects identified only as “Mark”, “Lor” and “Charlie” were arrested in two buy-busts in barangays of Lantad and Guinhalaran, all in Silay City.

The operations yielded an estimated 17 grams of suspected shabu valued at P115,600.

Policemen also arrested alias “King” in another buy-bust at Purok Baricutot in Barangay Zone 3, Talisay City, leading to the seizure of two grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P13,600.

All the arrested suspects are locked up in jail and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
