Cops seize 200kg of marijuana from ‘plantation’ in San Carlos

The Police Regional Office-6 has commended the San Carlos City Police Station and supporting police units for the discovery and seizure of a marijuana plantation and the apprehension of its two farmer-cultivators on May 14.

The raid in Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental yielded about 200 kilos of marijuana plants valued at P2.4 million.

A caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition was also recovered from one of the two arrested suspects.

“Keep up the good work. This was the product of your hard work. Continue the intensity of our campaign against illegal drugs,” PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, said in a statement.

The two arrested suspects in San Carlos City, identified as alias “Jo” and alias “Lito”, are now locked up in jail.

On May 18, two drug suspects were also arrested by the police in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Silay and Himamaylan, Negros Occidental, which yielded seven grams and 11 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P50,000. | GB
