A joint operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police led to the confiscation of two kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P13.6 million in Barangay Bantayanon, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Monday, April 7.
The PDEA-6 operatives, assisted by the town police, arrested alias “Khent”, 23, a senior high school graduate, during the buy-bust operation.
The origin of two kilos of suspected shabu taken from alias “Khent” is still being established.
Policemen also arrested alias “Paopao”, 19, at Phase 5 in Barangay 1, Kabankalan City for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
His apprehension yielded an estimated five grams of suspected shabu valued at P34,000, marked money of P500, assorted shabu paraphernalia and P100 in cash.
About 2.7 grams of suspected shabu valued at P18,360, a caliber. 38 revolver, P500 in marked money, assorted improvised shabu paraphernalia, were also seized by the police from an arrested suspect identified only as “Dodong” in Barangay General Luna, Sagay City.
Policemen also arrested alias “Tata” at Purok 2 in Barangay Narawis, Hinigaran.
Recovered from his possession were four sachets of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,026.
The four arrested drug suspects are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165. | GB
