Cops nab NPA militiaman linked to murder in Isabela

An alleged Yunit Militia member of the New People’s Army, who was implicated in the murder of a punong barangay, was apprehended by the police Nov. 17 in Sitio Maalot-alot, Brgy. San Agustin, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Nabbed by virtue of an arrest warrant, issued by La Carlota Regional Trial Court Judge Mila Yap-Camiso, was Winnie Carillo, 53, who was tagged as a rebel militiaman.

Carillo was implicated in the murder of former San Agustin punong barangay Agapito Euraoba on Aug. 10, 2018.

He was arrested by a tracker team of Isabela police, assisted by the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, the 604th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion6, and 62nd Infantry Battalion.

The suspect also ranked sixth among the 10 most wanted persons of the Isabela police.

Carillo is now locked up in jail and was denied bail by Judge Camiso./GB
