Policemen have arrested a leader of a local drug group and four other suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, that also yielded less than a kilo of suspected shabu with total market value of P5.1 million.
P/Lt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesman of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said Monday that Jonalyn Bugalon, leader of the Bugalon drug group, and Juanito Artisano Jr. were nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Purok Paraiso, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.
Catalogo Bugalon, 49, alias “Mommy Ging”, and Artisano Jr. were arrested by operatives of the NOCPPO Drug Enforcement Unit, and yielded an estimated 130 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P884,000.
On Sunday night, policemen seized 635 grams of suspected shabu from a drug suspect identified as Ahzer Villarosa in Purok Masinadyahon, Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City.
The confiscated shabu has a market value of P4.3 million.
Two other drug suspects, identified by the police as Juning Jalandoni and Justiano Pequiz, were arrested in Calatrava and Talisay City, Negros Occidental. Their arrest yielded 2.4 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P17,000.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has ordered the Bacolod City Police Office to intensify their monitoring of illegal drugs ahead of the MassKara Festival in October./GB
