Cops nab 5 suspects, seize P1.5M shabu in Negros Occ.

Policemen confiscated more than P1.5 million worth of suspected shabu from a couple and five other drug suspects in buy-bust operations on Jan. 13 and 14, respectively, in Negros Occidental.

A couple, identified as Rhodora Mijares Madriniño and Romel Esponilla Alfar, were arrested yesterday at Purok Magnolia in Barangay 7, Bacolod City.

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit recovered five knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing 206 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.4 million, along with a locally-made 9mm pistol with five rounds of ammunition and P300 cash.

Both suspects are detained at the Police Station 2 custodial facility.

On Saturday, two other drug suspects were arrested at Sitio Dacutan, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City.

The two street-level Individual drug personalities, whose identities were withheld by the police, yielded about P95,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Three other drug suspects, including a 63-year-old person, were also nabbed in Barangay Masaling, Cauayan, with 10 sachets of suspected shabu valued at P10,200. | GB
