The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office said Aug. 10 that it has successfully served a warrant of arrest against a high-profile target, for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The NORPPO did not name the wanted person, but said he is listed as Regional Level No. 9, Provincial Level No. 6, and Municipal Level No. 5 Most Wanted Person.

The warrant was served yesterday morning in Barangay Poblacion, Sibulan, by the Oplan Tracker Team of the Sibulan Municipal Police Station.

The warrant, issued on Sept. 17, 2024, by presiding judge Cenon Voltaire Batiancila Repollo of the Regional Trial Court Branch 45 Bais City, has no bail recommended, the NORPPO said.

Joint elements of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Dumaguete Police Station, meanwhile, apprehended a high-value individual Aug. 9, and seized 110 grams of suspected shabu, worth around P748,000.

The buy-bust operation, conducted at around 11 p.m. Aug. 9 in Purok Katubhan, Brgy. Bajumpandan, Dumaguete, also yielded an Android phone, a black Nike belt bag containing the larger quantity of drugs, and one P1,000 as buy-bust money.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Dumaguete CPS for booking and proper disposition.||
