Two of the top 10 most wanted persons in Negros Island Region (NIR) were arrested by the police in Ilog and Pontevedra, Negros Occidental on Aug. 13.

Mchjonill Alabado, 30, who is facing eight counts of qualified rape through sexual assault was apprehended by Ilog police and Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Barangay Balicotoc, Ilog.

The arrest warrant was issued by Kabankalan City Regional Trial Court Judge Rodney Zamora Magbanua.

Alabado, who ranked number five in the top most wanted persons of Police Regional Office-NIR, allegedly molested his nieces, 7, 8 and 9 years old, according to the police.

He was denied bail by Judge Zamora.

The apprehended seventh most wanted person identified as Gregorio Bulacan Jr., 44, was arrested by the police at Zamora St. in Barangay I-Poblacion, Pontevedra.

Bulacan was previously convicted for a drug related violation, but was subsequently released on probation.

However, the probation was later cancelled due to his continued drug use, leading to the issuance of a warrant of arrest for the service of the original sentence, the PRO-NIR report said. | GB
