In preparation for the possible impact of Typhoon Tino, Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) has placed its operations under red alert, ensuring round-the-clock readiness of its personnel and facilities across all service areas.

Negros Power said it has mobilized all field and command center personnel to respond quickly to any power interruption.

Mobile warehouses are being activated for logistics support while sleeping quarters are prepared at the office for teams working extended hours.

The distribution utility has deployed 36 response teams, nine quick response teams, 14 line teams, eight support crews (metering team), 12 line inspectors, and six metering inspectors in the areas of Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, Murcia, Bago-Ma-ao, and Don Salvador Benedicto.

These teams are fully equipped with motorcycles for quick response teams, four-wheel vehicles for response operations, and bucket trucks for line restoration, according to Negros Power.

The company also confirmed that 24/7 customer hotlines will remain open.

While the customer service office is operational, consumers are encouraged to reach out through Negros Power’s official social media pages, which have a dedicated team ready to respond to inquiries and outage reports.

Key accounts and community relations teams are likewise coordinating with local government units and critical facilities to ensure continuous service and fast response when needed.

Engr. Bernard Bailey Del Castillo, chief operating officer and chief technical officer of Negros Power, emphasized that the company’s priority is public safety and service reliability during the typhoon.

“All our contingency resources are now activated. We have pre-positioned our teams, vehicles, and materials in key locations to ensure quick response and faster restoration once conditions permit,” he said. “Our priority is the safety of our personnel and the public while ensuring that critical facilities like hospitals and emergency services remain energized.”

Negros Power assured its consumers that it will continue to provide regular updates and maintain close coordination with local authorities throughout the duration of Typhoon Tino.

“All systems are in place and our crews are fully mobilized,” the company said.

“We are committed to ensuring safety, quick response, and reliable restoration for our consumers during Typhoon Tino,” it added. ||
