A construction worker was shot dead late Monday night, Sept. 7, following a heated argument with a laborer outside a store in Purok 4, Barangay Asia, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
“Ramy”, 42, of Purok 3B in Barangay Bulwangan, was having a drinking session with companions outside a sari-sari store owned by his live-in partner at around 10 p.m. when “Romel”, 43, from neighboring Purok 5, Barangay Asia, approached him, the police said.
A heated argument ensued between the two men, then the suspect pulled out an unknown caliber of firearm and shot the victim three times in the chest.
Responding police personnel found the victim lying lifeless on the ground.
The suspect fled toward the mountainous area of Barangay Asia, and was eventually arrested yesterday morning during a hot pursuit operation by operatives of the Hinoba-an Police.
A .38 caliber revolver was seized from the suspect, the police added. | TMD
