The number of new registrants in Negros Occidental for the 2025 mid-term elections has reached 1,816 during the period Feb. 12 to 14, records of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed.

Provincial Elections Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria described the conduct of the first three days of the voter registration as “so far, so good.”

On the first day, Comelec recorded 839 registrants, 492 in the next day, and 485 on Feb. 14.

“We hope that we can average 2,000 applicants daily as the registration continues,” Ananoria said.

The provincial Comelec office is targeting to reach 200,000 additional voters in Negros Occidental. | GB
