CHMSU’s ROTC Unit 2nd overall, receives honors at RAATI 2025

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University was one of the top-performing contingents in the recent 2025 Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) for Army ROTC Units in Western Visayas.

CHMSU received the Outstanding ROTC Unit award after garnering a score of 94.79 percent, earning Overall Rank 2 among the 18 units in Region VI that underwent the RAATI from April 28 to May 26, the school said in a press release July 29.

The CHMSU ROTC Unit was also Best in Arrival Honor, Best in Admin & Management, and Best in Close Order Drill, as per the 6th Regional Community Defense Group (6RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Col. Jonathan Gayas.

The awards were conferred during the closing ceremony of the Advanced ROTC Academic Phase Training (ARAPT) MS 31/32, held July 27 at the 6RCDG headquarters in Camp Adriano Hernandez in Dingle, Iloilo.

Receiving the awards on behalf of CHMSU were NSTP director Esther Leah Macatimpag, ROTC Unit commandant, retired Lt. Col. Nathaniel Villasor; assistant commandant, 2Lt. Carlos Carlos; Corps commander, Private John Michael Olmedo; ROTC instructor, Sgt. Simon Jude Gardose, and other ROTC officers.

CHMSU successfully underwent the RAATI May 23. The inspection was led by Col. Michael Asuncion, RAATI 2025 chairperson.

The RAATI is conducted to evaluate the ROTC unit’s administrative efficiency, tactical proficiency, resource management, and overall training quality. ||
