The Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) kicked off its 3rd University Foundation Week May 13, with activities anchored on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

CHMSUans rose early for the simultaneous “All Roads Lead to CHMSU” fun run in three locations.

In Bacolod, the Alijis and Fortune Towne campuses joined hands and raced to the finish line at Megaworld’s The Upper East.

The Binalbagan and Talisay campuses also each held their versions of the fun run in their respective localities, participated in by students, employees, and alumni.

Organized by the Sports Affairs Office, the winners of the simultaneous fun run won cash prizes.

CHMSU, meanwhile, highlighted the various projects, programs, and initiatives led by students, faculty, and staff that contribute to the achievement of the United Nations SDGs, through the SDG Expo Village.

From student organization projects, research, innovation, and partnerships, to institutional programs, each project underscores how Education for Sustainable Development has been embedded in every fiber of CHMSU, its press release said May 14.

The SDG Expo Village is organized by the Center for Internationalization and External Relations, in partnership with the Office for Students Affairs, colleges, and units.

As CHMSU celebrates its 3rd University Foundation Week, the Library and Information Services across all four campuses officially opened the “CHMSU Through the Years: Many Roots, One Vision” exhibit.

It features publications, memorabilia, and materials that show the shared history and vision of all CHMSU campuses.

All campuses also held solemn masses to begin the week with faith and thanksgiving.

The Foundation Week festivities will continue until May 17. ||
