The Sangguniang Panlungsod said it joins the whole Bacolod City in commending Ellen Joy Arigorat, who has made Bacolodnons proud for being a changemaker in health, at the Healthcare Information Management System Society (HIMSS) Conference 2024 in Orlando, Florida, USA.

The SP approved April 3 a resolution authored by Councilor Em Ang, who said the Changemaker in Health award “recognizes individuals, who lead in the global healthcare ecosystem, particularly those who demonstrate a commitment to harnessing the power of information and technology to positively transform health and healthcare, driving transformational change leading to improved health outcomes and gaining the recognition and respect of their peers”.

Arigorat serves as an inspiration for all hardworking Bacolodnons in the US healthcare system, and is a source of pride for Bacolod, the resolution said, adding that she was born in Bacolod City in 1984, and studied elementary at the University of St. La Salle until her family moved to New Jersey, USA in 1992.

The councilor, who attended the conference last month along with Bacolod Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office head Mae Frances Llamas and officials from the Department of Trade and Industry, among others, earlier posted that Arigorat came to the Philippine booth three days in a row, and members of the Philippine delegation were proud to have met her. | CGC
