Negros Occidental provincial government employees will receive their second tranche of salary increase in August this year.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Wednesday (July 30) that the provincial government has allocated P33 million for the five-month salary increases, which will benefit the regular employees.

The granting of the salary adjustments and allowances to provincial government employees is mandated in the Modified Salary Schedule for Local Government Personnel contained in Executive Order (EO) No. 64, Series of 2024 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

EO 64 grants a four-tranche salary increase and a medical allowance to government workers to be implemented from 2024 to 2027.

Those in the top positions will have four percent of salary increase while occupying middle and below positions will have eight percent of salary increase.

There will be a 9.2 percent increase of the Capitol’s Personnel Services budget.

This move aims to boost the salaries and benefits of employees, reflecting the government’s efforts to enhance compensation for public servant, according to the provincial government. | GB
