Retired police colonel Allan Servida has been appointed as the security chief of the Negros Occidental provincial government.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said on Wednesday, March 11 that Servida was appointed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson as Executive Assistant IV tasked to supervise the overall security of the provincial government facilities.
Diaz said Servida is “getting to learn the ropes of everything, visiting each and every facility, looking and assessing the security risks”.
“We should help him cope with the demands of his work,” he added.
Meanwhile, Diaz expressed dismay on the vandalizing of the Capitol Lagoon and Park comfort rooms in Bacolod City.
The renovated air-conditioned comfort rooms were inaugurated only last month.
“Individuals often fail to recognize that facilities like the CR (comfort room) are communal assets. They should embrace ownership, treating these spaces as their personal property, as they are the primary beneficiaries,” Diaz said.
To pre-empt future acts of mischief, Diaz ordered heightened vigilance among facilities personnel.
He also ordered the immediate repair of destroyed door knobs, dislodged tiles, and water tank. | GB
