The possibility of releasing the Performance Based Bonus (PBB) of Capitol employees for 2022 and 2023 before the end of the year is being considered by the provincial government of Negros Occidental.

This was after Negros Occidental was named by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as an awardee of the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance on Thursday (Nov. 14).

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said   that the 2022 PBB was not released last year for lack of guidelines from the DILG.

The SGLG award is the highest recognition conferred by the DILG on outstanding local government units (LGUs) found to be compliant with pertinent national laws and guidelines, and excel in various indicators of good governance.

As year 2024 is about to end, Diaz said they are trying to make sure that all parameters for next year’s evaluation will be passed.

“So that for third year in a row, we will win again the SGLG award, which is one of the bases for the additional bonus for the Capitol employees,” he added.

The PBB is equivalent to 60 percent of the employee’s salary.

“That is why we have been asking the DILG to make a follow up with the Department of Finance for the guidelines and a joint memorandum circular,” Diaz said.

He added: “The employees are asking what is due to them for doing their jobs well”. | GB
