Employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental are expected to receive a Performance Based Bonus (PBB) next year after the province became an awardee of the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees president Ruben Diamante said on Monday that the PBB is a big addition to the salary of government employees as it comprises 60 percent of one’s base pay.

Employees of the provincial government are not entitled to receive PBB this year as the Capitol failed to receive the SGLG award in 2022.

Only seven local government units in Negros Occidental are eligible to grant the 2022 performance-based bonus to its officials and employees, according to a notice of eligibility dated Nov. 23 issued by the DILG.

As to the other year-end bonuses of Capitol employees, Diamante said they will wait for the formal announcement of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson during his birthday on Dec. 13. | GB
