The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) confiscated more than P17 million worth of illegal drugs during week-long operations across the region.
In 43 operations conducted from May 11 to 17, police arrested 51 drug personalities and seized 2.5 kilos of suspected shabu valued at P17.424 million.
Significant gains in intensified anti-criminality campaign resulted in dozens of arrests, confiscation of illegal drugs and firearms, and crackdown on illegal gambling activities.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, the PRO-NIR reported that 77 violators were apprehended, yielding P14,366 in gambling bets.
Intensified efforts against loose firearms carried out in 29 operations led to the confiscation of 10 firearms, the recovery of six abandoned firearms, and the seizure of one explosive.
Operations against wanted persons led to the apprehension 95 fugitives, of whom 15 were listed as most wanted persons. | GB
