A Chinese national listed as the regional top most wanted person of Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) was arrested in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on July 17.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Xi,” 34, was a former Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator employee.
She was apprehended during the operation led by the Dumaguete City Police Station, where she was served with a warrant of arrest for robbery under Article 294, Paragraph 5 of the Revised Penal Code as amended.
Police said the accused was informed of the nature of the charges and her constitutional rights in a language she understood before being taken into custody. She is now detained at the Dumaguete City Police Station pending her turnover to the issuing court and the completion of legal procedures.
PBrig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, director of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region, lauded the coordinated efforts of the participating law enforcement units.
“No wanted person can escape the long arm of the law when police units work together with determination and precision,” he added. | GPB
